Condition:
Excellent. The box has been cleaned and waxed.
Description / Expertise
A fine English olivewood and oyster veneered lace box in superb original condition. The rectangular top with ovolo moulded lip and cross-banded circumference laid with olivewood oysters and inlaid with a circle with inset geometric pattern in boxwood and the initials “M” and “B” again in boxwood laid to the opening side. The frieze with inset lock again laid with oyster veneers all around, with the lower plinth in ovolo moulded olivewood. The top opens to reveal a red painted interior. A splendid little lace box in superb condition retaining excellent original colour and patina.


Beverley Battersby was a noted collector in the London area for over 30 years, she acquired much of her collection from some of the most reputable London dealers.
