Very striking bronze Coventry election medal. Obverse: A lion holding down a three-headed winged serpent, lying amongst broken chains. On a banner around the edge: CORRUPTION DEFEATED FREEDOM VICTORIOUS. Below: COVENTRY/ DECEMBER. 10. 1832. Reverse: IN COMMEMORATION/OF THE/GREAT VICTORY/ OBTAINED BY THE/INDEPENDENT BLUES/ WHEN PRINCIPLE TRIUMPHED/OVER VIOLENCE & CORRUP/TION IN THE RETURN/TO PARLIAMENT OF/ E ELLICE/AND/H L BULWER ESQRS/WITH THE GLORIOUS MAJORITY OF 1241.
