Beautifully executed struck silver medal by Thomas Simon to celebrate the restoration of the Stuarts to the throne .
Obverse: Bust of Charles II looking right with long flowing hair, broad falling lace collar, armour and mantle tied on the shoulder in a knot.
Legend: CAROLUS . II . D : G . MAGNAE . BRIT . FRA . ET . HIB . REX. Reverse: Three crowns on the branches of a leafless oak and above, the sun bursting through clouds. Legend: TANDEM REVIRESCET. (It will flourish at last). This medal, when struck, is generally composed of two pieces of metal (in this case silver), which are united by a broad rim and furnished with a ring for suspension.

The leafless oak tree represents Royalty deprived of its honours and the legend expresses an assurance that it will again put forth leaves and flourish. In 1885, Medallic Illustrations rated this medal as "rare".
