Description / Expertise
William Lionel Clause was a landscape painter in oil and watercolour. He was born in Middleton, Lancashire in 1887. He studied art at the Slade School under Brown and Tonks. He exhibited at the NEAC and the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers among other places.
He is represented in many public collections. He lived in London and found many subjects near to home.
He died in 1946.
