Description / Expertise
Folded across the flat abdomen below the small conical breasts of this particularly fine and elegantly proportioned torso, the square-ended rounded arms, with no indication of fingers, are held left above the right. The long upper legs and thighs are separated by a deep āvā-shaped groove whilst a shallow incised line running down the length of the near-flat back indicates the spine and two lines mark the neck. A pale ochre incrustation covers the whole surface of the fine white marble. The back shows some indication of polish. The head and lower legs lost in antiquity.
