A most superb games table of outstanding design, quality and condition from the height of the Regency period.

Description / Expertise
The rosewood oblong top inlaid with a wide border of elaborate brass scrollwork, the apron with corresponding brass work to all four sides. The table is raised on a central concave shaped support with bold carved & gilded scroll mounts, and on a shaped platform base again with brass inlay to all sides. Below are four very bold and carved gilded lions paw feet supporting the table with magnificent style. The top opens as two slides, revealing a central sliding chess board, flanked by compartments for games pieces. The chess board slides back to reveal a removable back gammon box. George IV circa 1825.
